Street Lights

June 8, 2007

I’ve written a great deal about problems with street lighting, particularly in the Northern Quarter. Too many streets are without adequate lighting which leads to crime, and is a reason behind the epidemic of public urination. Residents in my building come across this constantly where I live, and car crime is rife on the dark streets, in addition to muggings.

I was still surprised however to discover that no less than 5 street lights weren’t working on my walk home the short distance from Thomas Street to Dale Street. I have reported this as I have made complaints previously in addition to my requests to the council for the lighting to be upgraded. There seems to be some progress in the pipeline now – watch this space.
